ከምሽቱ አንድ ሰአት አልፏል፤ የእጅ ስልኬ ደጋግሞ ቢጮኽም ትኩረት አልሰጠሁትም፡፡ ከጥቂት ሰከንዶች ፋታ በኋላ የቢሮዬ ስልክ ጮኸ፤ አነሳሁት፡፡ ለካስ እንዲህ በአንዱ አልመልስ ስላት፣ በሌላው እያፈራረቀች የምትደውለው ዕድሜዋ ወደ ሰባ እየተጠጋ ያለው አሮጊቷ እናቴ ኖራለች፡-

(Nairobi) – The prosecution of 29 Muslim protest leaders and others charged under Ethiopia’s deeply flawed anti-terrorism law raises serious fair trial concerns. The trial is scheduled to resume in Addis Ababa on April 2, 2013, after a 40-day postponement.

The case has already had major due process problems. Some defendants have alleged ill-treatment in pre-trial detention. The government has provided defendants limited access to legal counsel and has taken actions that undermined their presumption of innocence. Since January 22 the High Court has closed the hearings to the public, including the media, diplomats, and family members of defendants.

“There seems to be no limit to the Ethiopian government’s use of its anti-terrorism law and unfair trials to stop peaceful dissent,” said Leslie Lefkow, deputy Africa director. “The government’s treatment of these Muslim leaders bears the hallmarks of a politically motivated prosecution.”

The defendants include Muslim leaders and activists arrested and detained in July 2012 following six months of public protests in Addis Ababa and other towns by members of Ethiopia’s Muslim community over alleged government interference in religious affairs. Others on trial include Yusuf Getachew, former managing editor of the now defunct Islamic magazine Yemuslimoch Guday, and two Muslim nongovernmental organizations, allegedly managed by three of the defendants. Solomon Kebede was arrested and is being held under the anti-terrorism law.

ኢሳት ዜና:-በተባበሩት መንግስታት ድርጅት አማካኝነት በሩዋንዳ የተካሄደውን የዘር ማጥፋት ወንጀል በአቃቢህግነት በመምራት  የሚታወቁት የህግ ባለሙያው ዶ/ር ያዕቆብ ሀይለማርያም ከኢሳት ጋር ባደረጉት ቃለምልልስ እንደገለጡት ከዚህ ቀደም በደቡብ ክልል በጉራፈርዳ ወረዳ፣ አሁን ደግሞ በቤንሻንጉል ጉሙዝ በአማራ ተወላጆች ላይ እየተፈጸመ ያለው ወንጀል በማንኛውም ጊዜ ሊነሳ የሚችል ዘር ማጥራት ወንጀል መሆኑን ገልጸዋል።

ምሁሩ እንዳሉት ድርጊቱ የዘር ማጥፋት ወንጀል ባይሆን እንኳ የዘር ማጥራት ወንጀል በመሆኑ በይርጋ የማይታገድ በማንኛውም ጊዜ በአለማቀፍም በኢትዮጵያም ህግ የሚያስጠይቅ በመሆኑ በስልጣን ላይ ያሉት ሰዎች ቆም ብለው ሊያስቡበት እንደሚገባ መክረዋል። በውጭም ሆነ በአገር ውስጥ ያሉ ኢትዮጵያውያን ተጨባጭ ማስረጃዎችን በመያዝ ለተባበሩት መንግስታት ድርጅት የጸጥታው ምክር ቤት ቢያቀርቡት ድርጊቱን የፈጸሙትን ለህግ ማቅርብ እንደሚቻልም ዶ/ር ያእቆብ ገልጸዋል

የቤንሻንጉል ጉሙዝ ባለስልጣናት ቀደም ብሎ ደግሞ ሟቹ ጠቅላይ ሚኒስትር መለስ ዜናዊ ሰዎቹ የሚባረሩት አማራ ስለሆኑ ሳይሆን ደን ስለሚጨፈጭፉ ነው በማለት የተሰጠው ምክንያት ተገቢ አለመሆኑን የገለጡት ዶ/ር ያእቆብ ፣ ደን የጨፈጨፉ ካሉ በህግ ይጠየቃሉ እንጅ ወደ ክልላችሁ ሂዱ ሊባሉ አይገባም ብለዋል። ማንኛውም ኢትዮጵያዊ ይህን ድርጊት ማውገዝ እንደሚገባውም ምሁሩ ገልጸዋል ።

ሁሉም የኢትዮጵያ ባለስልጣናት ተጠያቂ መሆናቸውን የገለጡት ምሁሩ፣ በመንግስት በኩል የሚቀርበው መከራከሪያ ፈጽሞ ተቀባይነት የለም ሲሉ በአጽኖት ገልጸዋል።

ዶ/ር ያእቆብ ድርጊቱ ስሜታቸውን እንደጎዳው አልሸሸጉም።

በተመሳሳይ ዜና ደግሞ በማህበራዊ ድረገጾች ጽሁፎችን በመጻፍ የሚታወቁት መምህር አብረሀ ደስታ ” የአማራ ተፈናቃዮች በህወሀት ተግባር ምክንያት በትግራይ ህዝብ ቅር ሊሰኙ ይችላሉ። እንዲህ ከሆነ ደግሞ ዛሬ በአማራ ህዝብ እየተፈጸመ ያለው ግፍ ነገ በትግራይ ህዝብ መደረጉ አይቀርም። ግለሰቦች በስልጣን ለማቆየት ሲባል በሰለማዊ ንጹህ ዜጎች ግፍ እየተፈጸመ ዝም ብሎ መመልከት ተገቢ አይደለም።” ካለ በሁዋላ ፣ ይህ የማፈናቀሉ ተግባር ካልቆመ መጨረሻው ምን ሊሆን ነው? ስለሌሎች ስናስብ ስለራሳችን እአሰብን ነው።” ብለዋል።

የወያኔ መሪዎች እነ መለስ ዜናዊና ስብሐት ነጋ በ1967 ዓም ለትግል ደደቢት በረሀ እንዲገቡ ያነሳሳቸዉና ያሰባሰባቸዉ በአማራዉ ህዝብ ላይ ያላቸው  ጥላቻና የበቀል ስሜት  እንጂ የኢትዮጵያ ህዝብ በደልና እሮሮ አንገፍግፏቸዉ እንዳልሆነ በተለያዩ ግዜዎች ለህዝብ ይፋ የሆኑት የወያኔ  መግለጫዎችና ለረጂም ግዜ ወያኔን የመሩት መለስ ዜናዊና ስብሐት ነጋ በየአደባባዩ ላይ ያደረጓቸዉ ንግግሮች በግልጽ ያሳያሉ። እነዚህ ከወጣትነት ግዜያቸዉ ጀምሮ በአማራ ህዝብ ላይ ጥርሳቸዉን የነከሱ የወያኔ  መስራቾች በለስ ቀንቷቸዉ አዲስ አበባን ከተቆጣጠሩ በኋላም ቢሆን ለአማራ ህዝብ፤ ባህልና ታሪክ ያለቻዉ ጥላቻ ከተራ ጥላቻ አልፎ በተግባር አማራዉን ወደ ማጥቃት ዘመቻ አደገ እንጂ ለአንድም ቀን ቀንሶ አያውቅም።

የወያኔ አገዛዝ ኢትዮጵያ ውስጥ ያከበረዉ ወይም የኤኮኖሚና የፖለቲካ ጥቅሙን ያስጠበቀለት ብሔረሰብ ባይኖርም በግለሰብ ደረጃም ሆነ በቡድን የወያኔ ዘረኞች የአማራን ህዝብ ከተቀሩት ኢትዮጵያዉያን ወንድሞቹና እህቶቹ  ነጥለዉ ለማጥቃትና የስነ ልቦና ዘይቤውን ለመስበር ከፍተኛ ጥረት አድርገዋል። በአጠቃላይ የወያኔ ዘረኛ ባለስልጣኖች አማራውን በተከታታይ ሲዘልፉ ቆይተዋል፤አዋርደው  አስረዋል፤ ከአገር እንዲሰደድ አድረገዋል፤ አፈናቅለዋል ገድለዋል።  ለምሳሌ ወያኔ ስልጣን በያዘባቸዉ በመጀመሪያዎቹ አምስት አመታት ዉስጥ ብቻ አሶሳ፤ በደኖና አርባጉጉ ውስጥ አማራ በመሆናቸዉ ብቻ ህጻናት፤ሴቶችና አረጋዉያን በግፍ ተገድለዋል።

ባለፈዉ አመት በደቡብ ክልል ጉራ ፈርዳ እየተባለ በሚጠራዉ አካባቢ ለረጂም አመታት ከአካባቢዉ ኢትዮጵያዊ ወገናቸው  ጋር ተግባብተዉ ይኖሩ የነበሩ የአማራ ተወላጆች አማራ በመሆናቸዉ ብቻ ለአመታት ያፈሩትን ንብረት ይዞ የመሄጃ ግዜ እንኳን ሳይሰጣቸዉ አከባቢዉን ያለ ምንም ቅድመ ሁኔታ ለቅቀዉ እንዲወጡና  እንዲፈናቀሉ ተደርጓል። የወያኔ ባለስልጣኖችና በየአካባቢዉ የኮለኮሏቸዉ ምስለኔዎች አካባቢዉን በግድ እንዲለቅ የተደረገ ህግ አክባሪ ዜጋ የለም፤ የተባረሩት ህግ የጣሱ ግለሰቦች ብቻ ናቸው፣ በማለት አሳፋሪ ድርጊታቸዉን ለመደበቅ ሲሞክሩ ታይተዋል። ሆኖም ከጉራ ፈርዳና ከአካባቢዉ ተፈናቅለዉ ወደ መጣችሁበት አካባቢ ተመለሱ ተብለው በየሜዳው ያለምግብ፣ ውኃና፤መጠለያ የተበተኑ በብዙ ሺዎች የሚቆጠሩ የአማራ ተወላጆች ለወገኖቻቸውና ለአለም አቀፉ ህብረተሰብ የድረሱልን ጩኸት ሲያሰሙ መሰንበታቸዉ የቅርብ ግዜ ትዝታ ነዉ።

ወያኔ በዚህ በያዝነዉ አመት ከመጋቢት ወር መጀመሪያ ጀምሮ  በአማራዉ ህዝብ ላይ አዲስና ሰፋ ያለ የጥቃት ዘመቻ ጀምሯል። በደቡቡ የአገራችን ክልል በጉራፈርዳ የጀመረዉን አማራውን ነጥሎ የማጥቃትና የማንገላታት ዘመቻ አሁን ደግሞ በሰሜን ምስራቅ የአገራችን ክፍል በቤንሻንጉል ጉሙዝ ክልል ቀጥሏል። ሰሞኑን በቤንሻንጉል ጉሙዝ ለረጂም አመታት ከአካባቢዉ ህብረተሰብ ጋር ተቀላቅለው ይኖሩ የነበሩ አያሌ የአማራ ተወላጆች ያፈሩትን ንብረት ለመሰብሰብ እንኳን ግዜ ሳይሰጣቸዉ የኔ ብለው ከሚጠሩት የመኖሪያ ቦታቸዉ እንደባዳ እየተገፉ እንዲወጡ ተደርገዋል። እዚህ ላይ አንድ እጅግ የሚያሳዝን ነገር ቢኖር በገዢዉ ፓርቲ ኢህአዴግ ዉስጥ  አማራን እወክላለሁ ባዩ ብአዴን ወያኔ በአማራዉ ህዝብ ላይ የሚያደርሰውን በደል ዝም ብሎ መመልከቱ ብቻ ሳይሆን ባለፈው አመት ከጉራ ፈርዳ ዘንድሮ ደግሞ ከቤንሻንጉል ጉሙዝ እየተባረሩ እየወጡ ባሉ አማራዎች ላይ እየተፈጸመ ባለው ወንጀል ላይ  ተባባሪ መሆኑን አሳይቷል።

ግንቦት ሰባት የፍትህ የነጻነትና የዲሞክራሲ ንቅናቄ ወያኔ በአማራዉ ህዝብ ላይ ያደረሰውንና በማድረስ ላይ ያለውን ይህ ነዉ የማይባል ግፍና መከራ ከዚህ ቀደም እንዳደረገዉ ሁሉ አሁንም አጥብቆ ያወግዛል። ከዚህ በተጨማሪ ወያኔ በዚህ በኢትዮጵያ አንድነትና ነጻነት የትግል ምእራፍ ውስጥ በደም የተቀባ፣ የቀለመ አኩሪ ታሪክ ያለውን የአማራውን ህዝብ መልሶ መላልሶ የሚያጠቃውና ይህንን ታላቅ ህዝብ ከየቦታዉ የሚያፈናቅለው ኢትዮጵያና ኢትዮጵያዊነትን ከአማራዉ ህዝብ ጋር ብቻ በማያያዝ አገራችንን ለማዳከምና አንዱ ኢትዮጵያዊ በሌላዉ ኢትዮጵያዊ ላይ የሚደርሰዉን ግፍና መከራ “ምን አገባኝ” ብሎ እንዲመለከት ለማድረግ ባለው እጅግ አደገኛ ዕቅድ መሠረት መሆኑን የኢትዮጵያ ህዝብ እንዲገነዘብ በጥብቅ ያሳስባል።

ከዚህም በተጨማሪ በአማራው ህዝብ ላይ እየተፈጸመ ባለው እጅግ አስከፊ ወንጀል በግልም ሆነ በቡድን፣ የንጹሀንን ደም እያፈሰሳችሁ  ያላችሁ  ወንጀለኞችና ተባባሪዎች፣ ከያላችሁበት ታድናችሁ ለፍርድ እንድትቀርቡ ንቅናቂያችን የሚቻለውን ሁሉ ለማድረግ ያለውን ቁርጠኝነት   በግልጽ እንድታውቁት ይገባል።

በአማራው የደረሰው ጥቃት የሁሉም ኢትዮጵያውያን  ዜጎች ጥቃት ነው እንላለን።  ግንቦት ሰባት ይህንን አጋጣሚ በመጠቀም በግለሰብ ደረጃ የምንደሰትበትን ነጻነት የምናስጠብቀው በህብረት ነውና ወያኔ በአሁኑ ግዜ በአማራው ወገናችን ላይ የሚያደርሰውን ግፍ፤ መከራና መፈናቀል በእያንዳንዳችን ላይ እንደደረሰ በመቁጠር ይህንን ግፍ በመፈጸም የማይሰለቸውን ዘረኛ አገዛዝ በተባበረ ህዝባዊ ትግል ከአገራችን ለማስወገድ ለሁሉም ኢትዮጵያዊ የጋራ ትግል ጥሪ ያስተላልፋል።

UN FINDS IMPRISONMENT OF ETHIOPIAN JOURNALIST ESKINDER NEGA ARBITRARY UNDER INTERNATIONAL LAW AND CALLS FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Washington, D.C.: In an opinion released today by Freedom Now, the UN Working Group on Arbitrary Detention found the Government of Ethiopia’s continued detention of independent Ethiopian journalist and blogger Eskinder Nega a violation of international law. The panel of five independent experts from four continents held that the government violated Mr. Nega’s rights to free expression and due process. The UN Working Group called for his immediate release.

Mr. Nega is serving an 18-year prison sentence on terror and treason charges in response to his online articles and public speeches about the Arab Spring and the possible impact of such movements on the political situation in Ethiopia. Arrested in September 2011, Mr. Nega was held without charge or access to an attorney for nearly two months before authorities charged him under Ethiopia’s widely criticized anti-terror laws. This is the eighth time during his 20-year career as an independent journalist and publisher that the Ethiopian government has detained Mr. Nega. His appeal has been repeatedly postponed, most recently on March 27, 2013.

In the attached opinion, released in conjunction with an op-ed by the renowned Ethiopian opposition leader and former prisoner of conscience Birtukan Mideksa, the UN Working Group found that the application of overly broad anti-terror laws against Mr. Nega constituted an “unjustified restriction” on his right to freedom of expression. The UN Working Group’s opinion also recognized “several breaches of Mr. Nega’s fair trial rights,” further rendering his continued detention arbitrary under international law.

“The Ethiopian government cannot continue to use anti-terrorism legislation to muzzle the work of independent journalists, even when it does not like what is being reported,” said Freedom Now Executive Director Maran Turner. “The targeting of journalists by resorting to overly broad anti-terror laws, just like the use of anti-state charges in the pre-9/11 era, is a violation of the internationally protected right to free expression and undermines international efforts to address real security threats.”

EPRDF’s ethnic policy imperils the goal of AU

Unity of Ethiopia is paramount

The EPRDF regime is killing, arbitrarily arresting and encouraging ethnic cleansing; therefore an all-inclusive struggle in self-defense is morally and legally justified. The Amharas and Oromos are the main victims of such heinous crimes and must rely on their combined overwhelming majority and join other progressive democratic forces in order to dislodge the TPLF minority warlords from power and save Ethiopia from disintegration. In this regard, the call for justice, freedom and democracy is irresistible!

I would like to elaborate my point starting with the following Abraham Lincoln’s quote in August 22, 1862. I do so in order to stress the supreme importance of Ethiopian unity and territorial integrity under the umbrella of the African as the theme of this piece.

ETHIOPIAN FOREIGN MINISTER FLED THE SCENE ON FOOT AFTER SCUFFLE WITH OPPOSITION IN A SOUTH AFRICAN HOTEL.

Ethiopian Foreign Minister, Warlord Tedros Adhanom’s 30 meters sprint to a waiting car after being separated from his body guards during scuffle with refugees must have been the most embarrassing moment of his life.

 

He lost his wallet, a note book and his glasses while sprinting like a cheetah.

 The warlord was in South Africa to meet TPLF cadres and supporters at Hyatt hotel in Rose bank near Johannesburg when angry refugees and members of the Ethiopian community association get crashed the gathering which was being attended by less than 50 TPLF cadres out of an estimated 3,000 believed to be living in South Africa.

The rest stayed away fearing the opposition and the reaction of the South African government which unknowingly offered them political asylum.

As the ruling minority junta continues to suffer total rejection by Ethiopians at home and abroad and as guerrilla activities flaring up in northern part of the country, Tedros Adhanom was trying to allay fears that the junta is collapsing when the sound of “freedom, freedom! Let our voice be heard! Death to the TPLF!” began to reverberate inside and outside of the hall.

Realizing the huge presence of the opposition the warlord then panicked and sneaked out through the back door and dashed towards the car with his driver sprinting after him but unable to catch up.

Few refugees gave a mock chase amid laughter and excitement enjoyed by South African on lookers, hotel security guards and staff members of the hotel.

“Your foreign Minister is fit but a coward.” A female hotel employee joked with the Horn Times reporter.

“Look how this decayed junta is scared of its own people. We didn’t come here to make a citizen’s arrest, we are here to confront the warlord about issues of human rights, absconding with his tail between his legs is what we got as an answer.” A refugee who cannot be named for fear of attack on his family back home told the Horn Times.

However, after the shameful exit of the warlord and his entourage a dramatic moment took place at the very same hotel.

The Ginbot-7, and Oromo People Liberation Front (OLF) members together with Muslim Ethiopians and members of the Ethiopian community held an emotional meeting, reaching agreement to stand as one people in the face of increased TPLF atrocities on Ethiopians back home.

The refreshments bought by the Ethiopian embassy for the warlords and TPLF members were consumed by the demonstrators and all TPLF flags and emblems including a huge picture of the dead cannibal Meles Zenawi were confiscated by the refugees.

The meeting was concluded late afternoon by driving past the Ethiopian embassy in Pretoria, about 75 kms away from Rose bank, denouncing the ongoing crack down on Muslim protesters and expressing solidarity with the most persecuted ethnic Amharas.

The terror smitten warlord was still inside the Ethiopian embassy with handful diehard TPLF supporters by the time of going to the press.
